One Take Magic

I've had another go with the camera, I took some feedback from some friends. I have moved from using my phone to my camera, I am using a tripod. I have moved my positioning so I am not in a corner and I have a blank wall behind me. - I have also turned off the auto focus, however I still need to learn how to use the focus so I do not get any blur.

I filmed this in one take. Enjoy the video, and I hope you are fooled at the end of it.

Insomnia 54

I went to Insomnia 54 with a company called Overclockers UK and I worked at the event displaying gaming computers and hardware. The event is full of awesome people that all love games! As you may already know, I love games too as well as my magic so this place is perfect for me!

I performed magic to many people at the event, and I even had the chance to perform magic to my good friend docm77! He has filmed some of my magic that I performed to him on the Overclockers UK booth.

Close-Up Routine

Close-Up Routine

I've been thinking ideas based around the current magic effects that I know already, to link them together into a 10-15 minute close-up routine. The reasoning for doing this, is so I can use this act to put myself in a position so I can perform at the Magic Circle and hopefully become a member. - But also so I have a set routine that I can perform almost at any time.

I believe that flowing all of the little effects into one big show is far more magical, comparing to a big show filled with little effects, because asking the audience to pick a card 5 times one after another is not interesting.

So my plan is to become more professional, in regards to having a set routine, join the Magic Circle, and have a routine that is powerful that can be improved on the more it is performed!

My first time at the Blackpool Magic Festival!

My first time at the Blackpool Magic Festival!

I headed to the Winter Gardens on Saturday morning, ready and excited to be a part of the largest magic festival in the world!

I had no idea what to expect, but with almost 4000 magicians in the same building, I instantly felt at home. Over 130 magic dealers, selling everything related to magic from props to large illusions. It was great to be displayed with many magicians all performing incredible magic on the dealers stands, in the lectures, during the day shows and also in the streets!

There was so much to do during the day, having met Dynamo, Sooty, and other world famous magicians, the time flew by leading to the 3 hour gala show in the evening that included world class magicians from all around the world.

I was absolutely fascinated with the level of skill, not only in the magic they were performing but also the way it was presented to the audience. Performing magic with hundreds of magicians in front of you watching, it must have been nerve-racking for them, however every performer was absolutely fantastic (so they should be)! The acts that stood out for me on the Saturday and the Sunday were Natalie and Eli, Katrin Weissensee, Lara Jacobs Rigolo, Cubic, Mel Mellers, Do Ki Moon, Hyun Cheol Yong, Duo Magic and Magus Utopia. There are many more names that could be mentioned but these were the ones that stood out for me!

I am ready to book my tickets for next year!
